First of all, we’re glad you’re here. If you’ve come looking for answers about God, the church, and perhaps yourself, maybe you fall into what we understand to be the first stage of discipleship. You may not know exactly what it is you are seeking, but it is likely to include acceptance by, love from, and relationships with both God and other people. Sometimes it’s a gnawing or a craving inside that just won’t go away. Sometimes it’s a “hole” that just won’t be filled. Simply taking that first step out the door to seek the answers is an important move in itself.

We would love to help if you’re seeking; here are some suggestions:

Fill out visitor information in a worship service. Maybe you’d like to have a conversation or prayer with someone about your search. If not, it’s okay; just know that we’re here to help when you’re ready.

Attend the different worship services available at St. Matthew’s. Different styles of worship appeal to different people. Try them all and see if one best fits you.

Check out the St. Matthew’s website, www.stm-umc.org, or the church’s newsletter. There you will find the fullness of the ministries, opportunities, and activities at St. Matthew’s. Perhaps you will find an intriguing opportunity, one that may assist you in your further searching.

Attend a session of Coffee withthe Pastor. This informal gathering gives you the chance to get to know our leaders and our church a bit better.

At every step along the way, there is a celebration. Today, celebrate the fact that your questions have put you on the road to finding answers.
